A soviet fighter plane, the Ilyushin Il-2 Sturmovik, used in the WWII, has been recovered from a lake in northern Russia, the Russian army reported last week.
His recovery proceeds to a remarkable week that the project has lasted, which was started by the son of the pilot of the plane who was forced into November 1943 to an emergency landing on the ice lake Krivoye.
The Il-2 was one of the most important weapons of the USSR during the Second War and even Stalin himself expressed that it was almost as important to the troops as bread.
The plane will be repaired and turned into a monument, reported the army spokesman.
After studying History at the University and after many previous tests, Red Historia was born, a project that emerged as a means of dissemination where you can find the most important news of archeology, history and humanities, as well as articles of interest, curiosities and much more. In short, a meeting point for everyone where they can share information and continue learning.
